“Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.” - Proverbs 12:16

The proverb for today (I am starting to read the proverb for the day of the month, today is the 12th) is a specific way to live the theme I have taken from my grandmother’s life – “Mercy triumphs over judgment” - James 2:13. The Lord continues to beat the same lesson into my soul (and I fear He will need to everyday for the rest of my life!) – FORGIVE – to be in any relationship with another human begs the need to FORGIVE. We are human. We are sinners. The Lord calls us to FORGIVE, to overlook each other’s faults and to choose to live in relationship anyways.

“…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt…” – Jude 1:20-21

Take everything to God today, ask for forgiveness, ask to know Him more, seek Him - and then go out and love and forgive, just as your heavenly Father has forgiven you; just like my Deedee would say, "I can forgive because I have been forgiven."

"Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance." - Jude 1:2

I have heard it said that "tears are windows to the soul.”

In “The Shack” the Holy Spirit goes around collecting people’s tears – to keep – because they are precious to Him.

One of my fellow teachers says crying is a good practice – it should be done daily.

David sheds many tears as he is running and hiding from heart-hardened King Saul:

“My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember as I pour out my soul...”-Psalm 42:3

“Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll— are they not in your record?”-Psalm 56:8

“Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy."
-Psalm 126:5

I am crying all the time now, as it seems. And it’s good – it is helping. I think God gives us tears to help us communicate with Him through the Holy Spirit – just like it says in Romans, “the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” – 8:26 Crying just expresses deep emotions – a movement in the spirit or soul – and that is always a good thing.

Deedee's garden

I keep thinking Deedee is missing all the beautiful flowers this Spring.  She poured so much of her time on Earth into planting and growing and watering them.  And then I remember she is tending to some kind of unfathomable garden in heaven right now - and I realize that everything we see must just pale in comparison to what she is seeing.  I can only imagine what kind of plants are growing in Deedee's garden now...
